Power Consumption
Reduced power consumption reduces battery weight and improves soldier effectiveness. The challenge for power consumption within the system is to manage the average power consumer by the soldier, improving the efficiency of the system without adversely effecting capability. Static power efficiency can be improved by effective DC/DC design, component selection and appropriate system definition. Effective power management hardware and software can improve the dynamic efficiency by implementing stand-by or sleep modes during periods of inactivity.
