Integrated Soldier System
Based on our experience within the market for soldier portable power solutions, ABSL has developed an integrated system to support the next generation of soldier modernisation systems. The system is built from a number of flexible components:
- Soldier Portable Charger Datasheet (pdf)
- 4 Channel DC Field Charger Datasheet (pdf)
- Main Power Source with optional Holster(pdf)
- SMART Modular Charger (pdf)
Main Power Source (MPS) battery
This battery delivers state of the art performance for soldier systems and provides a specific energy of 175Wh/Kg. ABSL is also developing advanced power source technologies such as fuel cells and alternative battery chemistries to meet the increasing demands of soldier systems. For more information see the MPS Battery data sheet (pdf)
Soldier Portable Charger (SPC)
The Soldier Portable Charger (SPC) gives the soldier the ability to resupply power during operations, reducing the requirements for power storage and its associated weight and cost. Put more simply; the more power is available, the less you need to carry. The challenge in this case is to maximise the opportunity and capability to recharge the system without imposing a reduction on the mission duration or soldier capability.
ABSL's Soldier Portable Charger meets this challenge by ensuring the soldier system is interoperable with a wide range of power sources accessible in the battlefield, including infield generators, car batteries, mains power, solar power or other soldier systems. For more information see the Soldier Portable Charger datasheet (pdf).
Part of a Complete System
The Soldier Portable Charger and Main Power Source will link up to a variety of modern soldier information systems, providing information on power conditioning, power management and hold up power. The Main Power Source can also be charged using the 4-Channel DC Field Charger (See the 4-Channel DC Field Charger Datasheet (pdf)) or various AC charging units.
